Song of the Day, June 7: Subway Song by Kelly Jones

KellySubwayToday’s song is a delightful tale of seizing an opportunity. Kelly Jones is a delightful singer and songwriter, crafting little pop gems that sound like modern Brill Building hits. Whether losing her love, holding a roof party, or pondering romance near the rails, she sings brightly, investing every tune with a sense of fun. Her second album, SheBANG! is perfectly titled, ten songs in 30 minutes that tell lovely stories of modern life.

Subway Song is a standout. The tale of a woman who always notices a charming fellow on the opposite platform, it explores her mundane life and her decision to take a little risk. “Maybe it’s love, maybe not, either way we’re taking a ride!”

Enjoy this fun song today.
