MartinBrileyThis week sees a talented singer and in-demand session musician debut on the Hot 100 with his only hit. Martin Briley was born in London in 1950 and began playing guitar at the age of seven. He worked with a handful of bands and did extensive session work before moving to New York and launching a solo career.

His second album, One Night With A Stranger came out in 1983. This week its single Salt In My Tears entered the Hot 100 at #86. The song spent three weeks in the Top 40, peaking at #36 in July. Briley released one more album but never charted again, making him a true One Hit Wonder.

He still lives in New York and does extensive session work and songwriting.
